MCG Communications Specialists (Pty) Ltd is a 100% Black owned company,  managed by two women.  We are registered with the Services SETA and have received institutional accreditation by the same SETA.

We are in the business of growing people’s communication confidence.  We believe communication is an essential business skill, necessary for your company’s image and reputation.  Confident, goal-directed employees are more productive.  We believe that knowing how to communicate effectively, i.e. listening well, knowing how to answer questions well, being well groomed and well mannered, enhance the overall company brand.

We create and implement effective communication strategies incorporating the full spectrum of brand communication, including compiling newsletters, press releases, business writing e.g. annual reports and speeches

Miki Maubane

Miki Maubane holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and Organizational Development from the New School for Social Research in New York.  Was Awarded a Fellowship Award from the United Nations (Grant).   I also have Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Business from Principia College in Illinois, U.S.A.

For the past 20 years I have specialized in corporate communications, public relations, public affairs, community relations and media relations.

My knowledge of business to business communication, labour relations (I was part of the Joint Transformation Committee, a management team mandated to negotiate with unions at PX, a division of Transnet), marketing and corporate social investment, combined with my communications and training skills (I have given workshops, speeches and represented the companies I have worked for on high profile occasions) makes me “perfect” to be co-founder of MCG.

Inez Maubane Jones

Inez Maubane Jones obtained her Master of Journalism degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, USA and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and Political Science from Principia College in Illinois, USA. For over 15 years she has gained the necessary competencies including administrative, information systems, and organisational expertise that engage the engine of MCG.

As graphic designer for MCG she has co-branded the company as well as designed various newsletters and annual reports for MCG clients.  Her communication skills have been utilized in the comms skills seminars and comms skills training undertaken by MCG.  Her writing skills were employed in the various newsletters and annual reports undertaken for MCG clients.  Her administrative skills ensured weekly meetings and follow-up with MCG staff and marketing and sales team.

Inez Maubane Jones


  • Authored and published (Xlibris, 2013) a children’s book entitled, “The Contest.”

  • Published articles in two magazines owned and operated by the publishers of the Boston-based newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor

  • Wrote an African studies programme and successfully launched Ulimi Lwami language centers in Durban and Cape Town in partnership with the SABC while at Vega School of Brand Leadership.

  • Marketed and organized conferences, workshops and advisory panel meetings at National Research Foundation and Institute for International Research.

  • Excellent communicator: Given book readings, public talks, motivational speeches, voice-overs, starred in TV ads, programme directed and hosted an in-house video for SA Breweries and TV hosted a cable show for ABSA.  Also ‘cameoed’ on the TV shows “Muvhango,” “Scandal” and “Backstage.”

Written and edited in-house magazines, newsletters and press releases for Business Forms Designs, FABCOS, Afrikom and PX.  Won a joint-award from PMR Magazine for PX’s excellent communications strategy for diversity management.

Gained expertise from companies such as Afrikom (Public Relations Consultant – handled Wine Foundation account, and recognized by KWV for outstanding service), SABC ( First Marketing Executive,  for Radio Metro), Andersen Consulting (Accenture) (Marketing Executive), Transnet (National Communications Manager, PX Compiled a communication strategy which was implemented throughout the company to transform and change the company), BP Southern Africa (Public Affairs Manager – my corporate social investment programmes with BP for 3 years in a row won numerous awards), and Simeka TWS (Account Director).

Recently have been providing full-time project management service for Corporate Social Investment (CSI) for AECOM (Global Engineering firm) on behalf of Eskom, Kusile project. Eskom is building a power station in the Nkangala Region. The project had been running for two years and no CSI projects or comprehensive Assessment Analysis had been completed. Inadequate CSI accountability structural systems were present at Kusile.

Joined the Project Management team (3 CSI Project Managers) Identification tools to measure project effectiveness and guidelines for Evaluation of CSI were put in place.   Within a year, over Twenty projects were visited, reviewed, assessed and project managed, for Submission to Eskom’s CSI Management Panel. Within two and half years, 57 projects were Assessed, Verified, Adjudicated, Recommended and Submitted to Eskom for Implementation. Of the 25 projects implemented by Eskom, over half of them were CSI projects I had project managed and completed Assessment Reports for.

These include a primary school being built, schools  renovated,  and an Old Age Home being assisted on a job creation programme.
